There's just something about this Banana Pudding recipe. It's sorta homemade, a no-bake pudding recipe....and oh so delicious. This easy banana pudding recipe was inspired by my travels in Texas eating some of the best BBQ I've ever had in my life!

Now while I know you HATE to read all the bullshit within recipe posts, this is a true story! Years ago the Texas Tourism invited my family and I down to visit landmarks and eat all the amazing food from Austin to Dallas. We ate and ate and ate and ate until my stomach was about to burst! It was all just so damn good.
If you know anything about me, you'll know that if I'm traveling, I'm finding the hole in the wall spots that all the locals hit up. That's where I found this to die for Banana Pudding! It's super simple to put together with the boxed banana pudding, however, if you have the time and patience to make homemade banana pudding, by all means go for it.
But, ya girl is busy running businesses, the kids, living my best life with the man of my dreams and we got all the things to do!

Ingredients Needed To Make Banana Pudding
- Banana Instant Pudding - You can also use vanilla pudding if you prefer. You just won't have a lot of banana flavor.
- Milk - you can use whatever milk you have on hand. For this particular recipe, I used 2% as I needed to use it up!
- Whipped Cream - you can make your own whipped cream by whipping heavy whipping cream with a tablespoon or two of powdered sugar.
- Nila Wafers - you can sub these out for graham crackers, butter cookies or even animal crackers!
- Sliced Bananas - you can use as many banana slices as you choose!
How to Make Banana Pudding Marci's Way

In a large bowl, whisk together the banana pudding and milk. Let it set for a few minutes until it has thickened.

Once the pudding mixture has thickened, add in the whipped cream by folding it into the banana pudding. It'll become smooth and creamy.

Next, add in the banana slices and crushed vanilla wafers by folding again until just combined.
Serve into a mason jar or serving dish with slices of bananas and a handful of crushed vanilla wafers and enjoy!

Can I store banana pudding in the refrigerator?
So yes you can! However, the vanilla wafers will soften in the banana pudding and the bananas may begin to brown in the refrigerator.
If you want to make this banana pudding recipe ahead of time, fold in the vanilla wafers and bananas just before serving to keep them fresh.

Can I layer this in a trifle dish so guests can serve themselves?
Of course you can! Start by lining the bottom of a trifle dish with banana pudding. Next add in whole vanilla wafers and slices of bananas. Continue to layer until you have run out of ingredients.
If you are using my recipe to make a trifle dish, you'll want to double or triple the recipe so that you have enough to fill to the tippy top!
