how to make oreo balls
In a food processor, pulse the Oreos until they have turned into crumbs.
Next, add the cream cheese and blend until the dough comes together into a ball.
Using a cookie scoop, scoop out dough onto a baking sheet and using the palm of your hands, round out into balls. Place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.
While the oreo balls are in the freezer, melt the candy melts at :30 increments in the microwave, stirring in between. You want to ensure the candy melts aren’t hot when dipping in the oreo balls or it will break down into the candy melt.
Dip the oreo balls one at a time using a fork into the candy melt, coating the entire ball. Place on parchment paper and place a candy heart on top.
NOTE: The candy melts harden fast so you want to ensure that you place the candy heart immediately for it to stick.
how to store leftover oreo truffles
To store any leftovers, place in an airtight or container and store in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. You can also store in the freezer for up to 3 months! Great for making ahead.
